Are you guys completely LOVING Pinterest or what? I honestly can't get enough. Talk about endless ideas! If you're ever experiencing creator's block, spend 5 minutes on there, and the juices will flow, I promise you! I have already made a few projects for the house based on ideas I've gotten from Pinterest, and I just made another one today. Well, yesterday and today - that's how quick this is - I did one quick one yesterday, took about 10 minutes, and one today, that took about 5. Maybe less. Let me explain...
I saw this last week while perusing good ol' Pinterest:
LOVED IT! I had never seen anything like it, and knew I wanted it for our home. So on a recent trip to Michael's, I grabbed a couple sheets of scrapbook paper (79 cents per sheet), and a pack of black number stickers for $2.99. I wasn't really sure if I was going to use the stickers, or make it another way (I'll talk about that in a sec), but figured I'd grab them. At $2.99, I wasn't going to break the bank;). I already had a black frame, so I was all set. I wanted our anniversary date to look different, as it does in the Pinterest one, so I used larger stickers for that and did that first, then worked up and down with the birthdays.
This last photo cracks me up - if you'll peek into the kitchen, there's 3 sippy cups lined up by the sink. They are there at any given time of the day, with the exception of about 8pm-7am, when the trio is asleep;) hehe.
So that's how that one turned out.
Then I wanted to give it a try another way, and I had bought 2 sheets of paper (always leave room for error, am I right?!), so I turned the computer on, checked out some various fonts, and in the end, went with Castellar. I made the anniversary date in 72, and the birthdays in 48, centered everything, printed it on a sheet of plain ol' computer paper first to see what it would look like, and then cut the scrapbook paper to size, loaded it in the printer, and done. So that option cost me 79 cents (the cost of the paper). That's IT.
So which do you like best? Either way, it's one heckuva cheap (and meaningful) way to fill your walls!

I'm so putting one of these up in our new house! My vote is for the printed version!
I really love this! I like the printed version best because the black on the first one (the one with stickers) is a little too black. LOVE this, though! Thanks!
I love the printed version, too! Which size paper did you use?
Also, I think it's so sweet that your youngest was born on your anniversary :)
Thank you! I just used the 8x11 cardstock from Michaels, and I can't remember, but I may have trimmed it the slightest bit so it was the exact same size as our printer paper? It's been a while, sorry! And I know, how crazy is that about our anniversary baby?! We joke that we'll be spending our anniversaries at Chuck E. Cheese's and Pump It Up for the next decade;) LOL!
I love the printed version! I wonder if you put spaces or dots between the day/month/year ...hard to tell from the photos. Also what is the frame size you used? It looks square so presume you bought a cream matt and centered the 8.5 x 11 paper underneath? Thanks! I would love to make this for our family.
You got it! The frame is just your standard frame, 11x14 maybe? And I used a mat for an 8x10, and just put the paper underneath. And yes, the printed version does have dots in between the numbers. Thanks for reading!
I looked at a close up to see how you spaced the numbers out and realized that one of your children and I share a birthday! 3/20... I won't share the year lol. I love your blog and your wonderful creativity!!!
