L-O-V-E Glasses

So I started decorating for Valentine's Day. The house looked so sad and pathetic after Christmas, so I decided I couldn't wait any longer! Plus, the way I look at it, you go through all this work and time decorating, why enjoy it for just a couple weeks, right? A month makes way more sense...;)

The dining room (as always for some reason), is the first to get decked out. Haven't finished just yet - still have a couple more little touches I have to do, then I'll do a post. Darn kids had to go waking up from naptime today - the nerve! ;) Let's just say this...I picked up an insane amount of conversation hearts at the Dollar Store today, so the cashier either thinks I have a horrible sugar addiction or am quite crafty...funny, typing that, I just realized both are actually true...

But in the meantime, here's a super quicky post and project to give you a little Valentine's Day preview:
I know, deja vu, right?! If you've been following ND for the past couple months, you probably recognize this idea from my T-H-A-N-K-S glasses.
I liked the way they turned out so much, that I thought, heck, why not head on down to my Dollar Store, and along with the 899 bags of conversation hearts, grab 4 of those glasses and make L-O-V-E glasses?! Brilliant! Only I did uppercase for these guys - thought the word LOVE might look better that way for some reason - don't ask me why, I'm just weird like that - and instead of fall-ish potpourri like mini acorns, mini cinnamon sticks, etc., I filled them with those little cinnamon red hots. Add some votives (I love to use flameless b/c of the kids), and you're set. If you missed how I made these, I did a step-by-step in the T-H-A-N-K-S post, you can check it out here. Nothing too mind-blowing, just taped a stencil onto the glass, used a foam brush, and filled in each letter with paint. Done!
That's about as far as I got on the mantel today, since the dining room sucked up all my naptime;). I do love these though, mostly because they solve my mantel dilemma of having a few inches to decorate with, thanks to the low mounted TV!

Stay tuned for more V Day progress in the ND house!
