Just wanted to share a quick little project I did yesterday, that cost me about $2!
It all started with this wooden something - it was just one of those things I spotted at a yard sale last summer and decided I'd figure out some use for it. It was a buck, so I went for it.;)
Then I was at Michaels yesterday. I spotted THE CUTEST scrapbook paper - I mean, I seriously fell in love with this and grabbed a couple sheets, not even knowing what I would do with it! It had blue and red in it, with kitchen-y shapes, like pitchers and mixers, measuring spoons and colanders. Adorable! Then at naptime, I went down to my stash of yard sale goodies (that are slowly taking over this house), and it hit me: Spray paint this wooden thing-a-ma-jig aqua, attach this cute paper to the back, and stick it over the stove! I wasn't sure if I'd place mugs in the openings, or spices (which I think I might try at some point, just to try it out), but I liked the concept.
To hang it, I attached some little teeth guys - one on each side:
And that's it!
I do plan on getting some of those acrylic sheets and cut them to place on top of the paper, so they're protected from splatters and such, but that's easy enough.
So there's my yard sale find turned mug holder/spice rack! Not bad for a couple bucks!
