If you read my latest post, you know we just took a family vacation to Ocean City, Maryland. My parents came with us, which is always a lot of fun (and nice to have 2 extra sets of hands and built-in free babysitters, not gonna lie;). My mom and I are one and the same when it comes to decorating - we have very similar tastes, and have a ball shopping together. Mom's just as passionate as I am when it comes to home decorating (apple doesn't fall far from the tree, know what I mean?), so when she had heard from a friend about the huge HomeGoods in Rehoboth, Delaware, we knew we had to pop on in and see what it had to offer. It's not far from OC, so one morning while the kiddies, my husband, and father were having a leisurely breakfast, we hopped in the car and went for a little drive to one of our very favorite stores on the planet.
That's Mom's "are you really taking a picture of me right now??" look. Sorry, Mom, a blogger's always gotta be ready for a photo op;) hehehe...
Anyway, thought I'd share with you my major scores of the day! Got some goodies, AND since it was Delaware, TAX FREE! Love that.
1. Huge white vase: $12.99
I should have taken a pic of it next to a regular size vase so you can see just how big this guy is. And HEAVY. I'm talking a big ol' heavy gorgeous vase for just $12.99!!?? HomeGoods ROCKS. Can't wait to fill it with my hygdrangeas in the summer, and thinking it'll make for a perfect Thankful Tree come November.
2. Square-Holder-Thing-a-ma-jig: $9.99
Not even really sure what this is, but fell in love with it! ;) I pictured maybe some mason jars filled with flowers, or maybe plastic utensils for a party? I dunno, but I DO know I like it. Not usually an impulse buyer - if I can't think of a use for it, I pass, but this guy spoke to me..."buy me, I'm too cute to pass up"...so I did.
3. 4 Box/Drawer Thing: $6.99
I love this! And $6.99?!! I picture it sitting on a stack of large books in my future bookcases in the family room. Perhaps with a small green plant in it? Plus, my hub's got a thing for the number 4 - been his lucky lacrosse number since he was a kid and even now in his Master's leagues. So I told him I bought it "for him" and he liked that;) Win-win!
4. Wire Basket: $12.99
You know how I feel about attractive storage solutions! This will be perfect in the family room for kids' books or my magazines, or the inevitable, more TOYS. Or even in the kitchen, for cookbooks...hmmm...
5. Red and white pot: $12.99
I saw this and immediately envisioned it sitting on my open shelves in the kitchen. Perfect pop of red with the blue and white.
Dont'cha think? And it's microwavable, oven, and even dishwasher safe. Woo-hoo!
So those are my purchases from our fun outing to HomeGoods. Could very well be my favorite store (but shhh...don't tell IKEA). Do you love it too?

Awesome finds! My parents are building a house five minutes from that Home Goods...I seriously think that's why I am super excited that they are moving there. :)
I have several of those chicken wire baskets: One for my cookbooks, one behind my washer for the laundry detergent and dryer sheets (I buy a big box of powder detergent and put it in a supersize mason jar), one for our bibles and devotion books on the buffet, one for my quilt books, one for our 'lazy night stash/picnic' stash of paper plates and stuff, and a mini one for all the scissors and pens on my desk....so yeah...I love that basket! Great finds!
I do love it, but sometimes I get so overwhelmed, I can't make a decision. So it's best to go with a list of things I truly need. (And when I say need, I don't mean life sustaining, just purposeful!)
Yes, I love Home Goods. I love all of the neat things you got. I can't pass up a white pitcher, wooden box,or wire basket either.
Glad you had a great time!
