Ocean City 2012

Hey! Didja miss me!? (I kid, of course;). If you're a Facebook follower, you know we were on vacation last week. Went to Ocean City, Maryland, where we've been going since, well, forever. So many traditions and places we must  visit when we're down there...it always feels like home when we exit the 90 bridge and pull out onto Coastal Highway. Kids were SO excited and couldn't wait to get there!
Ok, Noah looks like he *may* not be fully awake yet, but trust me, he was pumped! ;) Literally walked out the door after they woke up!

By the way, those bags they're holding were lifesavers! The teacher in me can't get enough of stuff like this. I had a ball picking up little things at the Dollar Tree and decorating the plain white bags. The dry-erase boards turned out to be the biggest hit of all, and kept them occupied for a good hour at least. Oh, and the marker had one of those built-in erasers. Can I kiss the genius behind that  idea?!

So mental note to always make goodie bags before a long trip, worth every penny;)

We got there, hit the beach immediately (couldn't get into our place for a couple more hours), and the kids were in HEAVEN.
What a difference from last year. They've always loved the sand, but this year they were all about the water too. So fun to watch them splash in the waves and jump around with pure joy on their faces.

And of course we had to hit some rides...
Priceless.

Others we checked off the must-do list:

Funnel cakes: check.

Boardwalk: check.

(MANY) Candy Kitchen trips: check.

Dumser's (#1 MUST): check.

Kite flying: check.

Passing out from exhaustion: check.

After dinner games on the beach: check.

And Paul's personal favorite - Dressing in matching clothes for pictures on the beach: check! (100% sarcasm of course)
For the record, he always tells me after the fact, how much he loves the pictures. Yes hon, I'm calling you out;) So it's 10 minutes of his life he'll never get back, but how cute will they look blown up in our new family room, am I right?! hehehe...
And in typical fashion for our wacky bunch, we got a little crazy...
Perfect.

So we came, we swam, we played, we ate like pigs, we had a lot  of fun.  Good for the soul, good for the family, good for the memories. Thanks OC. See ya next year!

Looks like everyone had a blast. We try to get to O.C. every summer. Love the Candy Kitchen for salt water taffy and Fishers for caramel popcorn :)

We've been going to Ocean City forever, too! Sounds like we were there a week after you. My daughter (almost three) discovered her love for Candy Kitchen this year - just like her mama! :)
